Wheat flour – 1 cup
Jaggery grated – 3/4 cup
Poppy seeds – 1 tsp
Desi ghee – 5-6 tbsp
Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp
Grated dry coconut – 1 tsp
Chopped almonds – 1 tsp

How to make Gol Papdi
To make Gujarati style round papdi, first take a plate and grease its base with desi ghee. After this, sprinkle 1 tsp poppy seeds all over it. After this, put 4-5 teaspoons of desi ghee in a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the ghee melts, add wheat flour to it and mix it well with the ghee with the help of a ladle. During this, keep the gas flame low.

Now roast the flour for about 15 minutes while stirring with the help of a ladle. In this time the color of the flour will turn golden. Now add grated jaggery, grated coconut and cardamom powder to the flour and mix it well. When the jaggery melts, turn off the gas. After some time, when the mixture remains slightly warm, put it in a plate containing poppy seeds and spread it evenly around with the help of a spoon.

After the mixture spreads well, leave it like this for some time to set. After some time, with the help of a knife, cut it into diamond shape (or any shape of your choice). Garnish with almonds from above and keep the round papdi aside to set. When the round papdi is set, take it out with the help of a knife and store it in an airtight container.
