Bokaro. In history, kings and Maharajas have built magnificent buildings like the Taj Mahal for their girlfriends. Similarly, Bokaro’s unique lover Sumit Kumar has been running a ‘Bewafa Gupchup stall’ in the memory of his girlfriend at Chas Jodhadih turn for the past one year. His stall and golgappas are quite famous.
This is how the journey started
Golagappa seller Sumit told Local 18 that he was in a relationship with his girlfriend for 5 years while studying in school. However, in 2022, there was some altercation between him and his girlfriend. After which they broke up. Sumit became very disappointed after this breakup, but he focused his attention on business and decided to set up a Pani Puri stall. Today he is successfully running this stall.
Water is available in two flavors
Sumit told that at his stall, customers can enjoy both sweet and tamarind pani flavoured puris. The price of a plate (5 pieces) of panipuri is Rs. 10 and everyone from children to adults come here to enjoy panipuri.
This is how tasty golgappas and water are made
Regarding the recipe of making golgappas, Sumit said that first of all, after boiling the potatoes thoroughly, they are peeled and mashed. Then black pepper, salt, chaat masala, green chillies, green coriander spices are prepared in it. After that, mint leaves, green chillies, tamarind pulp, black salt, roasted cumin and water are added for water. Finally, the puri is broken and filled with water and served to the customer. 200 to 300 plates of Pani Puri are consumed daily at his stall. He operates his shop from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
