The bag containing about 12 tolas of gold jewellery belonging to the daughter-in-law of former BJP district president Suryanarayan Tiwari, who was coming to Gonda from Delhi with her husband and child, was stolen. Husband Diwakar Tiwari has filed a case in the Government Railway Police station and also lodged a complaint in the Railway Protection Force station.
Diwakar Tiwari, son of BJP leader Suryanarayan Tiwari, a resident of Awas Vikas Colony in the Nagar Kotwali area, was coming to Gonda with his wife and child on May 29 from New Delhi in the First AC Cabin – D 11 and 12 berths of the Gorakhdham Superfast Express train.

The train reached Lucknow Charbagh station at 5:00 am on 30 May. Meanwhile, he noticed that his wife’s bag full of jewellery was missing. He said that the bag contained 12 tola gold jewellery, which included 7 rings, two mangalsutras and other jewellery. When the bag was not found despite a lot of searching, he complained to Charbagh GRP and Railway Protection Force.
Sub-inspector Balram Meena of Charbagh Lucknow Police Station of Government Railway Police said that a report has been registered. Efforts are being made to recover the jewellery. Diwakar expressed regret over the incident not being solved even after 36 hours. He has accused the security department of the railway of negligence. He said that if the jewellery is not found soon, further action will be taken.
