Agra: Fire broke out in shops, panic in the area after seeing the flames

The fire that broke out in a cosmetic shop in Nawada Bazaar, Tajganj, Agra, took a serious form within a short time. The fire quickly spread to three other shops. The family living above the shops somehow saved their lives by running away. Firefighters along with nearby people brought the fire under control in about 2 hours. Two shopkeepers suffered minor burns while trying to extinguish the fire. The loss in the fire is estimated to be worth lakhs.
Manoj Aggarwal’s building in Nawada Bazaar has 12 shops on the ground floor, while Manoj and his brother’s families live in the upper part. Flames started rising from Gaurav’s cosmetic shop at around 8:30 pm on Saturday night. Within a short time the fire spread to nearby shops also. On this, people of Manoj and his brother’s family living in the upper part came out.
During this time he tried to extinguish the fire with a submersible pump. Police also reached. Businessman Rajesh Rathore said that the cosmetic shop was completely burnt, while the salon and then two other shops also suffered damage. People nearby helped a lot in extinguishing the fire. Meanwhile, firefighters also continued to control the fire.
Salon operator Shiva said that the shop’s goods and furniture were reduced to ashes in the fire. Along with this, a cyber cafe and another shop have also been hit. Police station in-charge Jasveer Singh said that there was no loss of life. The cause of the fire is being ascertained.
