This information was shared by Google yesterday at the CES 2024 event that the company is joining hands with Samsung for a famous service for Android phones. Google said that both the companies have joined hands to convert their sharing solution into an app. Users will now be able to share data on Android devices as well as Chromebook laptops.
In 2020, Google started a service called Nearby Share in Android phones in which the company allows Android users to transfer data faster. Samsung provides a similar service in its phones through Quick Share. Now both the companies have decided to convert these apps into one app and after the update, users will be able to transfer data here and there under the name Quick Share. Users will get this facility not only on Android but also on Chromebook laptops. Along with this, Google said that it is also working with PC manufacturers like LG etc. to provide Quick Share app as the default app in Windows computers.
Privacy settings will remain under your control
Google said in the blogpost that users will now be able to transfer data in a single tap. Also, users can adjust the privacy settings as per their convenience. You can choose who your device will connect with. For this you will get 3 options including Contact, Anyone, and Your Device. The company said that Quick Share service will start being available in Nearby Share enabled devices from next month. You will now get the option of Quick share instead of Nearby share in the notification panel of Android phone.
Company expanding fast pair service
Google said that after mobile, the company is now expanding the Fast Pair service to Google TV along with Chromecast. With its help you will be able to connect Bluetooth devices faster. Apart from this, the company is also giving some new updates in Android Auto. Electric vehicles compatible with Android Auto may share real-time battery information with Google Maps in the coming months. This facility is being introduced first for Ford Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning. Also, you will soon be able to send the road trip planned on your mobile to Google Maps on the car display.
