Talking to Business Standard, Snehil Khanor, CEO of matchmaking app Truly Madly, says that this move of Google has had a deep impact on his business. He told that on the first day the app was removed from Google Play Store, TrulyMadly’s business was affected by 20-25 percent. After this, there was about 40 percent decline in business on Saturday.
It is known that after issuing a blog post, Google had removed popular apps of 10 Indian companies from the Play Store from March 1, 2024. These apps include the names of many popular apps of India including matrimony apps. Google had removed Kuku FM, Bharat Matrimony, Shaadi.com, Naukri.com, 99 acres, Truly Madly, Quack Quack, Stage, ALTT (Alt Balaji) from the Play Store, after which after the strict stance of the government, these The apps were returned to the Google Play Store.
