State Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister and in-charge of the district Suresh Kumar Khanna expressed his displeasure over the functioning of the careless officers of the district. He reprimanded the District Economics and Statistics Officer and the Milk Development Officer for presenting wrong figures in the District Planning Committee meeting held at Annexe Bhavan Auditorium on Saturday. He said that such officers should take VRS (voluntary retirement).

During the meeting, when the Minister asked for the figures, the District Finance and Statistics Officer could not provide the figures of the expenditure of the last two years properly. On the other hand, the Milk Development Officer could not tell the figures even thrice. On this, the minister in-charge directed the DM to summon answers from both the officers. Earlier in the meeting, the minister approved a district plan of Rs 648.76 crore for development works in Gorakshanagiri. There is no change in the amount of the total budget of the district plan since the Corona period i.e. year 2020-21. However, department-wise budgets kept on increasing and decreasing. The minister in-charge took department-wise information about last year’s budget and the expenditure incurred in relation to it. Then discussed this year’s budget. He said that the entire amount should be spent on development works. Special attention should be paid to the quality and time limit of the works. The minister in-charge said that the people’s representatives must be informed about the development works.
