The Transport Corporation will operate 380 special buses from different routes of Purvanchal between January 13 and 16 for the devotees coming to offer khichdi to Baba Gorakhnath on Makar Sankranti.
The Transport Corporation has decided the routes for this. The corporation has plans to run additional buses on routes like Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Thuthibari, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Badhni, Balrampur, Gonda, Deoria, Kushinagar, Dohrighat, Ayodhya, Khalilabad and Rudrapur etc.
Control room will help forgotten passengers For the convenience of the devotees, a control room has been set up by the roadways at the Gorakhnath temple and the railway bus station. This control room will remain functional for 24 hours. Employees posted in the control room will make the devotees coming to the fair aware. Along with this, they will also help in taking the forgotten passengers to their destination in the fair. For this, the Transport Corporation has issued control room numbers 9414858159, 6392305706 and 0331 2200093.
27 electric buses will run for the fair Gorakhpur City Transport will operate 27 electric buses for the pilgrims. Electric Bus Depot Manager KK Mishra told that for this, 25 additional electric buses are being called from Lucknow.
Regional Manager of the Transport Corporation, PK Tiwari said that all preparations have been completed for the Khichdi fair. Control rooms have been set up in the Mela and Railway Bus Station premises. Along with this, additional buses have been installed for the convenience of the devotees. Additional buses will be added as per the need.
