Thursday brought happiness for the forest dwellers who had been hoping for ownership of their land for decades. State Governor Anandi Ben Patel granted him terrestrial rights under the Forest Rights Act. During the grand function held at Sevakunj Ashram Chapki, the Governor also provided nutrition kits to Anganwadi workers and toys for children at the centres.

On the last day of her two-day visit, the Governor reached Sevakunj Ashram in the morning. Here the forest dwellers welcomed him with the tribal folk dance Karma. The Governor visited the exhibition of products made by the women of self-help groups. He laid special emphasis on education, health and nutrition of the forest dwellers. On this occasion, Minister of State for Social Welfare Sanjeev Singh Gond, Vice Chairman of SC-ST Commission Jeet Singh Kharwar, former Rajya Sabha MP Ramshakal, DM Badrinath Singh, SP Ashok Kumar, Organization Minister of Seva Kunj Ashram Anand etc. were present.
