Actually, during a podcast interview with Manish Paul, Govinda shared a story from the early days of his career. Govinda told that at the age of just 21, he had signed 75 films.
Govinda said, “I never came into the film line, the film line was handed over to me. God gave me the film line and said brother, take care of it”
During this, Govinda told that when he started his career, he had a line of film offers. Govinda said that he had signed 75 films.
Govinda further told that the late legendary actor Dilip Kumar had advised him to leave 25 of his films. After this, when Govinda told him that he had already taken the signing amount and how would he return it, Dilip Kumar assured him and said that leave everything to God, he will help you manage it.
Later, following the advice of the veteran actor, Govinda left 25 films.
During this, Govinda also revealed that his health was badly affected due to the packed schedule. Govinda told that he used to fall ill frequently on the set and had to go to the hospital.
Govinda also revealed that he once did not sleep for 16 days due to the continuous shooting schedule. Despite these challenges, Govinda’s dedication towards his art never diminished.
Let us tell you that Govinda started his career in the year 1986 with the film Love 86 and soon he joined the list of top actors of the industry.
In the 1980s, Govinda’s films like Ilzaam, Sada Suhagan, Dadagiri, Do Qaidi, Pyar Karke Dekho and Khudgarz were huge hits. In the 1990s, he consolidated his position as a comedy icon with David Dhawan and entertained the audience with many great films. Govinda was last seen in the 2019 film Rangeela Raja.
