Govinda Comedy Movies: Actor Govinda is known for his comic timing. He has given many great films in the 90s. He entertained fans with many hit films. But once Govinda had talked about staying away from comedy films.
In an interview with Rediff, he said that he is taking a break from the comedy genre and is focusing on other serious roles.
‘My films were considered a time-pass’
Talking about his comedy films, Govinda had said- My films were always considered as total timepass entertainment, like a B-grade film. They were never called good films. Even though the films performed well, they were never praised. I was always nominated for the Best Actor category award, but never won. After this, the category was changed to Best Actor in a Comic Role. I tried to fight the situation. But then I thought why fight? So I decided to change.
‘I will not do comedy films from now on’
Govinda further said, ‘I will not do comedy films from now on. And if I do, the script should be new and fresh. I have started hating one type of writing. My track record has been good till my last film Ek Aur Ek Gyarah. It does not matter whether I have been more successful or less in my career. What matters is that I have got success. Now I will not spoil my name. This is the right time to move out.’
