gps based toll tax system will be introduced soon know what will be the use of fastag after that

Fastag After Satellite Toll Tax System: All the drivers in India who take their vehicles from one state to another have to pay toll tax. There was a time when people had to stand in long queues for toll tax and had to pay the toll tax manually. For this, they had to carry cash as well. But now all this is a thing of the past. Now in India, the facility of Fastag is available everywhere to pay toll tax.

As soon as you reach the toll tax, you pay the toll directly through Fastag. You don’t have to stand in a queue. You don’t have to stop your vehicle for long. But now Fastag is also going to be a thing of the past. Because now GPS based toll satellite tax system will be implemented soon in the whole of India. What will happen to Fastag after this? Will it be completely closed? Let us tell you.

How will the GPS toll system work?

The Indian government has just launched the satellite based GNSS toll tax system on some highways of the country as a pilot project. In the satellite toll system, the distance of the vehicle will be determined through GPS and money will be deducted from the account through satellite. For this, OBU i.e. On Boarding Unit will be installed separately in the vehicles.

Due to which the vehicle can be tracked in real time. Toll will be charged according to the distance of the vehicle. But for this, it is necessary to have OBU or in-car tracking device in the vehicle. This device will have to be installed separately for which separate money will have to be spent. However, it is not clear yet when the GPS toll system will be fully implemented across the country.

Fasttag will continue to work

There are many vehicles in India which do not have GPS system. To implement the satellite based GPS toll system, separate lanes will have to be built on the highway. This also requires a long process. In such a situation, vehicles which do not have GPS system will continue to pay toll tax in the old way. That is, their Fastag will continue to work as before. Currently, both satellite toll system and Fastag will work on hybrid model in India. Let us tell you that no such thing has been said by the government about shutting down Fastag.
