Gravity Effects Why Things Always Fall Down By Gravity

Gravity Effect: Gravity is what causes things to fall to Earth, things with energy or mass are attracted to each other, or planets orbit stars. This does not happen only on earth. It is seen in every planet and even moons, even if its quantity is more or less there. Seeing things falling down on the earth, have you ever wondered why things fall down due to gravity? Why doesn’t it fall upwards? Let us know the satisfactory answer to this question from a scientific point of view today.

What is gravity and attraction?

You must be aware that due to gravity, objects having mass or energy are attracted towards each other. Because of this, fruits break from the trees and fall down on the ground and the planets revolve around their stars. You must have noticed that magnets attract similar types of metals, but also work to repel other types of magnets. Whereas, in gravity, only attraction has an effect.

To find a solution to this, in 1915, scientist Albert Einstein published his general theory of relativity. Objects with mass, such as the Earth, actually serve to twist and turn the fabric of the universe. This fabric is called spacetime or space. This twist and turn is called curvature. We feel its effect in the form of gravity.

what is space time

Spacetime or space is made up of four dimensions. Along with the three dimensions of space, length, width and height, it also includes the fourth dimension in the form of time. With the help of mathematics, Einstein found that the laws of physics for space apply where space and time mix together. In simple language, this means that if you move very fast due to the connection of space and time, then time slows down. This is the reason why fast-moving travelers in space age slower than those on Earth.

matter creates a gravity well

Due to the curvature of spacetime, objects in the universe are attracted to each other due to gravity. It has been told in the theory of relativity that everything in the universe can rotate or turn in spacetime. According to physics, this means that all things have mass and energy.

Spacetime is like a trampoline

Our mind can only think about three dimensions. That’s why it is a bit difficult to think about the fourth dimension of spacetime in just one thought. To understand this easily, scientists give the example of trampoline or bounce board. Trampoline is the name of this thing on which children play by bouncing. If nothing happens on this trampoline, it remains flat, but as soon as a heavy object comes on it or say that the child stands, then a kind of pit is formed with a stretch around its feet. There is a child in the center of this pit. If now a ball is put in it, it will go towards the feet of the child.

But if someone is on a trampoline and he is pushed upwards instead of down and the ball moves away from the center, then a mountain of gravity will be formed. Scientists say that in this situation gravity will create repulsion instead of attraction. But, scientists have not yet seen anything that behaves like this on Earth or outside it.
