Expansion

There is a saying that one may look small but the wounds are serious… Something similar has been happening with political faces in Tirwa assembly constituency. From the point of view of geography and number of voters, Tirwa is the smallest among the three assembly seats in the district, but this does not diminish its political status. The mistake of underestimating it often hurts leaders deeply. This assembly constituency, bordering Auraiya and Kanpur Dehat, has all the facilities which are usually imagined to be available in a big city.

It has been two decades since the Government Medical College was built in Tirwa. At that time, it was considered strange to talk about a medical college in this small area. The wheel of development did not stop here. After the Medical College, the Government Engineering College was established at a distance of a few kilometers from here. Later, a huge building of cancer hospital was completed in the medical college itself. It has been more than seven years since the magnificent cardiology building was constructed. It is a different matter that till now both these hospitals are only worth seeing. Cardiology operations have not been started.

Only OPD has been started in the cancer hospital a few months ago. Due to non-availability of staff, only the team of the medical college is working. A Para Medical College has also been established here to enable the youth of rural areas to make a career in medicine. An Excellence Center has been set up with the help of Israeli scientists to connect farmers with technology. Cow milk plant has been built to improve the economic condition of cowherds. Due to lack of budget it has been closed for almost two years. A solar plant was built in Fakirepurwa. It has also been four years since it was closed. The stadium built in Saurikh is in a dilapidated condition.
