On one hand, due to the festival, people were buying clothes and firecrackers, while on the other hand, darkness was looming in a garment factory in Ahmedabad. The situation was such that two laborers working in the factory died. Not only this, the condition of seven other laborers remains critical.

What happened was that on Sunday, two workers died after inhaling toxic fumes in a garment factory in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, while seven people were admitted to the hospital in critical condition. When this information was received from the police, it was found that this accident happened at Devi Synthetics Factory in Narol Industrial Area of ​​the city.

How did the poisonous smoke spread?

The big question is how did poisonous smoke spread in a factory? Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ravi Mohan Saini said that when acid was being poured into the tank in the factory, the poisonous smoke entered the bodies of nine workers through inhalation. Two workers had already died before the police could investigate. The DCP said, “Police received information about the accident at around 10:30 pm that nine people were affected due to leakage of poisonous gas in a factory in Narol and they were taken to LG Hospital, where two died.”

Four workers admitted to hospital

Giving more information about this accident, the police said that seven workers have been admitted to the hospital, out of which the condition of four is very serious. He is being treated in ICU. Police also said that preliminary investigation revealed that acid used in printing and dyeing work was being poured into the tank when nearby workers were affected. The official said that a team of police, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Industrial Safety and Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) officials have reached the spot and started ascertaining the exact reason.

The DCP also said that industrial safety and FSL officials are busy finding out whether the factory has followed proper procedures regarding No Objection Certificate (NOC) etc. and will take further action based on the report received from the officials.
