Guneet Monga On Oscar Speech Video: Indian films dominated the Oscars 2023. At this year’s Oscars, ‘Naatu Naatu’ from veteran director SS Rajamouli’s film ‘RRR’ won the Best Original Song category and Bollywood filmmaker Guneet Monga’s documentary film ‘The Elephant Whispers’ (The Elephant Whisperers) got the title in the Best Short Film category. During this, the news of discrimination with Guneet Monga at the 95th Oscar came to the fore, in which Guneet was not allowed to speak much in the winning speech. Now Guneet Monga has broken the silence regarding this matter.
Guneet Monga spoke about Oscar winning speech
Guneet Monga, who won the Oscar Award in 2023 through her documentary ‘The Elephant Whispers’, recently gave an interview to Bombay Times. During this interview, Guneet Monga spoke about the incident when the filmmaker was interrupted during his winning speech on stage after winning the Oscars. On this matter, Guneet has said that- ‘People are feeling very bad that I was not allowed to speak after winning the Oscars, for which the Academy is being heard very harshly.’
Displeasure is being expressed against this behavior of the academy through many videos and tweets on social media. I have not been given a chance to say my point. This was the moment of whole India, which was snatched from me. I just wanted to say that my film is the first film produced in India to win an Oscar.
Guneet increased the honor of the country
Today the whole country is praising and congratulating Guneet Monga. This is also natural because Guneet Monga’s short film ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ is the first Indian documentary film to win an Oscar.
