The sealed bathroom located in Gyanvapi campus will be cleaned from 9 am on Saturday. This decision was taken by District Magistrate S. after holding separate meetings with the plaintiff side of Maa Shringar Gauri case and officials of Anjuman Intejamia Masjid Committee on Thursday. Rajalingam took it.
On January 16, the Supreme Court had ordered the cleaning of the Vaju Khana located in the Gyanvapi campus. It was said that the cleaning of the toilet should be done under the supervision of the district administration of Varanasi. In pursuance of the order of the Supreme Court, the District Magistrate held separate meetings with the women litigants of the Maa Shringar Gauri case and their advocates and officials of the Anjuman Intejamia Masjid Committee at Pinak Bhawan located in Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham.
With the consent of both the parties, it has been decided that the cleaning work will start from 9 am on Saturday. The cleaning work will be completed by around 11 or 11:30. The dead fishes lying in the water shed will be thrown out. The live fish will be handed over to SM Yasin, joint secretary of the Masajid Committee. Then, by installing a pump, all the water will be drawn out from the bathroom and it will be thoroughly cleaned by removing the algae etc. accumulated in it. After this, lime will be sprinkled in it.
During the cleaning of the bathroom, two representatives from both the parties will be present, but they will not go inside the mesh. The cleaning work will be done in such a way that no damage is caused to the Shivalinga-like figure found in the bathroom (as claimed by the Hindu side) nor any religious sentiments are hurt. Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) S Chanappa, DCP Kashi Zone RS Gautam, Vishwanath Dham CEO Sunil Kumar Verma and ACP Dashashwamedh Avadhesh Kumar Pandey along with other police-administration officials were present in the meeting.
