The counting of votes in Bihar’s Hajipur Lok Sabha, which has become a hot seat in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, has become very interesting. Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas chief Chirag Paswan is maintaining a consistent lead from here. Chirag has so far received 3,09,591 votes and is leading by 92,706 votes. At the same time, Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Shivchandra Ram has got a total of 2,16,885 votes.
At present, Shivchandra Ram seems to be lagging behind Chirag Paswan. Now nothing can be said about his chances of winning. It is worth noting that Chirag Paswan is contesting for the first time from his late father Ram Vilas Paswan’s seat Hajipur and top BJP leader Narendra Modi also campaigned for him.
Chirag Paswan had won from Jamui in 2019
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Chirag Paswan contested from Jamui Lok Sabha constituency. Then Chirag Paswan defeated RLSP’s Bhudev Chaudhary by 2,41,049 votes. RLSP’s Bhudev Chaudhary got 2,88,085 votes, while BSP’s Upendra Ravidas got 31,611 votes. At the same time, the winning candidate Chirag got a total of 5,29,134 votes, which is 55.75 percent of the total votes.
Chirag Paswan had won from Jamui Lok Sabha constituency in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. He had got 2,85,354 votes then. He had defeated his nearest rival Sudhanshu Shekhar Bhaskar of RJD by 85,947 votes. In 2014, a total of 50.01 percent votes were cast.
