Barbarik is worshiped in Kalyug in the name of Baba Khatu Shyam. Some devotees consider Khatu Shyam to be the Kalyugi incarnation of Shri Krishna. According to the legend, Shri Krishna had given this boon to Barbarik at the time of Mahabharata that you will be fulfilled in Kalyug in my name ‘Shyam’. That is why he is called Khatu Shyam.
