The body of a pregnant woman from Delhi has been recovered from the forest below Bhairav Temple in Nagar Kotwali area. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. The husband has informed the police that his wife died due to falling from the mountain while visiting Mansa Devi temple. Also told that due to fear the incident was kept hidden. The exact cause of death will be revealed in the post mortem report.
According to the police, on Thursday, the police team from Kashmere Gate police station of Delhi reached the city police station and registered the arrival. The team told that on October 8, Akash, a resident of Khajurikhas, Kashmere Gate, New Delhi, had reached Haridwar with his wife Himanshi (26), who was eight months pregnant, to take a bath in the Ganga. After taking bath in Ganga, Mansa reached Devi temple for darshan. While coming back from here, Himanshi had fallen down from the mountain. After this the husband went back in fear and did not tell anything to anyone.
A missing person was lodged by giving information about his disappearance from Kashmiri Gate Railway Station on October 9. After this, Delhi Police registered the case and started investigation. As the story seemed suspicious, the husband was strictly interrogated. Then he told the whole story to the police. After this, Delhi Police reached here on Thursday along with the local police team and recovered the body of Himanshi from the forest below Bhairav Temple. The dead body was completely decomposed. City police station in-charge Kundan Singh Rana said that the body has been sent for post-mortem. The exact cause of death will be revealed only in the post mortem report. Further action will be taken by Delhi Police only.
