Harold Edward Holt was the 17th Prime Minister of Australia. He took over the post of Prime Minister on 26 January 1966. Edward was elected unopposed after the retirement of Menzies, the then Prime Minister of Australia. He also participated in the general elections held later that year and won with a huge margin. Harold Edward was very fond of swimming and fishing.
It is a matter of 17 December 1967, when Harold Edward Holt suddenly disappeared while swimming at Cheviot Beach in Victoria. Many efforts were made to find him, but nothing could be found about him. Finally, on December 20, 1967, Harold Edward Holt was officially declared dead, but surprisingly, his body could not be found till date.
His disappearance is a mystery till date
