Mo Javed Yusuf, a resident of Gaya, Bihar, is fond of collecting pens. He has inherited this hobby. Javed has a library of pens and he has more than 100 precious pens. Today the price of those pens is in lakhs.

Mo Javed Yusuf’s grandfather and father were fond of buying pens. His grandfather was a DSP in the British rule and his father retired from the post of DM while being a magistrate. In those days, his grandfather and father used to buy many pens for signing which used to be very expensive and unique. They used to have pens of branded companies like Parker, Pelican, Iker Sharp, Rolled Gold, Schiffers, Cross Dot Pen. At that time, their price used to be 15-20 thousand rupees but today the price of these pens is in lakhs.

The specialty of the pens Javed has is that the nib and cover of all the pens are gold and platinum plated. There are many pens which are made of 24 carat gold. Today all the pens are in working condition and Javed has kept all the pens carefully in a locker. In those days these pens used to come in sets of three. All the pens he has came from abroad and the price of pens of companies like Parker and Schiffers is Rs 2 to 4 lakh today. Mohd Javed Yusuf says that the pens he has are expensive as well as very rare. Today it is difficult to find these pens in the market.

Javed told that his father and grandfather were very fond of pens. In their time, they used to go to office with 3-4 pens in their coats. After their death, Javed also collected a lot of pens. Today he has more than 100 expensive pens of branded companies. All the pens are from 1880 to 1960. The specialty of these pens is that all of them are studded with gold and platinum. The nibs of many pens are also made of gold. Overall, the cost of all the pens together is more than one crore rupees today.
