There are many warnings about the dangers of Elon Musk’s Neuralink technology. But this technology can improve the lives of disabled people. An example of this is Noland Arbaugh. Despite being unable to move any of his body parts, he can now operate the cursor on the computer using just his thoughts.
Noland Arbaugh was just 22 years old when he had to face a tragic accident. During the summer holidays, he went swimming in a lake with some of his friends but his head hit something in the water and he broke two vertebrae in his neck. Doctors confirmed that he was paralyzed from the neck down.
Nolan could operate the iPad using a stick held in his mouth which put pressure on his neck and body. Speaking to the Independent, Nolan revealed that things like eating triggered panic attacks for him.
In September last year, a friend told him about a trial set up by Neuralink, a brain implant company co-founded by businessman Elon Musk. Nolan applied and had the operation four months later.
