The condition of a class five student in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh suddenly deteriorated. The family members took him to Firozabad for treatment. When his condition became critical here, he was referred to Agra. The family has alleged that the condition worsened after taking Albendazole tablets.
The matter pertains to village Padham of Jasrana police station area. Prashant, 10-year-old son of village resident Vidyaram Rathore, is a class five student of Composite School, Padham. On February 1, Albendazole tablets were given to boys and girls in the school. After taking the pill the student went home.
The family said that after this the student developed fever. He took medicine from a quack. The child’s condition deteriorated on Friday after taking the medicine. Suddenly he started vomiting blood. On this the family members immediately brought him to the Community Health Center Jasrana. From here he was referred to Firozabad. When his condition became critical, the doctors referred him from Firozabad to Agra.
Family members said that the student is undergoing treatment at SN Medical College, Agra. Prashant’s father Vidyaram told that he was shot in school. After this the child got fever. At present the condition of the children remains critical. Ruvida Bano, headmistress of the same composite school, said that Albendazole pill was administered on February 1. Whereas, the condition of the student deteriorated on February 2. Treatment is being done. The health department has also been informed.
