Condoms Use Report : A new report by the World Health Organization (WHO) has made a shocking revelation. It states that the use of condoms and contraceptive pills by teenagers is decreasing, which is a matter of concern.
This report claims that about one-third of boys and girls in European countries have admitted that they did not use condoms or contraceptive pills the last time they had sex. There has been no change in this habit since 2018. This has increased the risk of diseases and unwanted pregnancies caused by unsafe sex.
What does WHO data say?
WHO recently conducted a survey in 42 countries of Europe and Middle East. In which 2,42,000 teenagers aged 15 years were included. According to the questions asked to them, the number of boys who used condoms the last time they had sex with someone has fallen from 70% in 2014 to 61% in 2022.
Girls do not use contraceptive pills
According to the report, the number of girls who used condoms or birth control pills last time has decreased from 63 percent to 57 percent. This means that about one-third of teenagers do not use condoms while having physical relations.
Why most young people don’t use condoms
According to a survey by the World Health Organization, the use of contraceptive pills has remained stable from 2014 to 2022. 26 percent of girls aged 15 years used these pills after their last sexual intercourse. 33% of adolescents from lower middle class families did not use condoms or birth control pills, while the figure for adolescents from high class families was 25 percent.
WHO’s Europe director Hans Kluge says that even today sex education is not being provided in many European countries. This kind of problem is increasing due to not telling the youth about the dangers and harms of unsafe sex at the right time.
