Asthma is a lung disease that lasts for a long time. In this, there is swelling and contraction in the respiratory tract. Due to which there is a problem like shortness of breath. This can happen at any age. If its symptoms are not caught on time, then the condition can also become serious.
The severity of the symptoms of this disease can depend on its different stages. There are four stages of asthma. Very few people know about this. Let us know what are the four stages of asthma disease and which of these is more serious.
Intermittent Asthma: The first stage of asthma is Intermittent Asthma. Its symptoms can be felt for two or even fewer days in a week. In such a situation, patients do not have to get up frequently at night when they have breathing problems. In this stage, the lung capacity can be 80% or more. Inhalers are less needed in this.
Mild Asthma: In the second stage of asthma (Mild Persistent Asthma), the symptoms remain less severe. In this, asthma attacks or symptoms can be seen two or more days in a week. They need two or less inhalers.
Moderate Asthma: In this stage (Moderate Persistent Asthma), the symptoms of asthma can be felt continuously. Due to which one may have to stay awake all night. Sleep may be disturbed. This completely affects the lifestyle. In this stage, the capacity of the lungs can be up to 60-80%. In this, an inhaler is needed daily.
Severe Persistent Asthma: This is the most severe stage of asthma (Severe Persistent Asthma). In this, asthma attacks can occur repeatedly. Coughing all night can disturb sleep. In this stage, the lung capacity can be 60 percent or even less. Inhalers are required regularly.
