Health Facilities : Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) has prepared a list, which will soon act as a guide for all the health facilities provided by the government in the villages. With its help, people will be able to get treatment in Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM), health centers and district hospitals.
It is called National Essential Diagnosis List (NEDL), the draft of which has been placed in the public domain. It recommends that at least 9 types of diagnostic tests should be available even in village level health facilities. So that people do not have to wander anywhere for tests. Which medical tests are included in the draft?
ICMR’s draft includes tests for diabetes, malaria, TB, HIV and syphilis. The draft guidelines recommend that tests for Hepatitis B should be available in addition to the basic tests in Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. Apart from this, there should be clinical tests for all common diseases including dengue, Japanese encephalitis and scrub typhus in primary health centers (PHC). X-ray and ECG machines should also be available at PHC.

Let us tell you that at present many types of health facilities are being run in rural areas but they do not have basic clinical facilities. Due to which the people there have to wander here and there. Due to problems one has to go to far away private or big hospitals. Where after waiting for a long time the number comes somewhere.
Due to this, many times treatment is not done on time and the problem increases. This also causes loss of time. Sometimes this also proves to be dangerous. In such a situation the new draft can be quite good. This can help a lot in medical treatment.
