Be it fast food or South Indian dish. But for the last 30 years in the city, Manish, who has been selling litti by the name of International Litti Chokha at just one handcart stall, attracts a huge crowd. All kinds of people come to his shop. Whether young or old or young. They are seen relishing their Litti Chokha. The crowd is such that the car has to be put in line only then you will get litti chokha. For 30 years, the people of the city are enjoying Litti Chokhe here.
Now after reaching the International Litti Chokha shop, we met Manish while he was baking litti. Manish says that this shop was started in 1994 by his late father Ghanshyam Jaiswal. These people are residents of Ramkola in Kushinagar district. In 1994, Ghanshyam Jaiswal started selling Litti Chokha sitting on the roadside in front of the Gorakhpur Rail Museum. But after 10 years, Ghanshyam ji dies. Then his son Manish sets out to take this business forward. Now Manish runs this International Litti Chokha shop and is taking care of his family from this shop.
Desi ghee mixed with desi dal litti
For the last 30 years, Litti Chokha is being sold at this shop. Manish, who runs a litti shop, says that during his father’s time there was not much sales. Nor so much variety but since Manish is running the shop. Since then the specialty of this shop has become different. Now at this shop litti chokha is served with desi ghee and desi dal tadka. Along with this, litti is also learned on the goetha in front and in the same goetha’s fire, potatoes, brinjals and tomatoes are fried. Sattu and ghee filled in litti are both homemade. These people do not buy and use any goods from the market.
Thousands of littis are sold every day
Manish sells around one thousand litti chokhas everyday at the International Litti Chokha shop. Anuj, who eats litti here, says that he works in the bank behind here and has been eating this litti here for 5 years. The taste is like home and very good, plain litti chokha is available here for 20. On the other hand, if you want to eat litti with ghee, then it is available for 30. If pulses are also to be taken along with it, then the cost of one bowl of dal fry is 20 rupees. Every day 1000 littis and 10 kg pulses are made at the shop.
