Aditya Anand/Godda.Rajasthani Jalebi, which is sold at the fountain in Hatiya Chowk, Godda, is famous for its taste throughout the district. Here 20-25 kg of Jalebi is sold daily at this stall. This jalebi is prepared from curd and khoya. Because of this it is more tasty. This Jalebi is available only here in Godda district. Apart from this, you will not find this Jalebi anywhere else. For the last 5 years in Godda, this Jalebi is being fed to the people of Godda by artisans coming from Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Jalebi is given for Rs 140 per kg and 4 pieces for Rs 10.
Jalebi seller Sohan Ram said that he opens his shop after 1:00 pm every day and closes it after 8:00 pm. Meanwhile, sometimes he sells 25 kg and sometimes 30 to 40 kg of Jalebi. At his shop, people from different districts of Jharkhand and Bihar come to Godda to eat Jalebi. The same Jalebi that is eaten here is also packed and taken away.
How to make Jalebi
Sohan Ram told that to make Jalebi, a paste of flour is prepared a day before. On the second day, curd and khova are mixed in it and kept aside. After this, a flat shaped pan is used to make Jalebi. In which oil is kept at one level. And this jalebi is fried in the girl’s fire. After this it is mixed in syrup.
