Himanta Biswa Sarma On Badruddin Ajmal: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday (February 11) launched a scathing attack on Lok Sabha MP and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal. CM Sarma said that Badruddin Ajmal does not show respect towards women.
Speaking at a function in Nagaon district, Chief Minister Sarma said, “Ajmal does not show respect towards women. He considers women only as machines, which give birth to children. AIUDF leaders only want to keep them behind the burqa.
So I am unable to sleep the whole night – CM Himanta Sarma
CM Himanta Sarma said, “When Ajmal is invited to the programs of Srimant Sankardev Sangh, I am unable to sleep the whole night. He is not a follower of the principles of Shankardev and I want to assure the people of the Sangh that as long as there is a BJP government in Assam, you do not need to worry about funding.” The Chief Minister said that in future Ajmal will be given the title of Shrimant. Should not be invited to the programs of Shankardev Sangh.
Controversy over this statement of Badruddin Ajmal
Earlier, Ajmal had created a major controversy by saying that as per law, Muslim men get married immediately after attaining the age of 21 years, while Hindus get married after the age of 40 for having illicit relations with at least three women. Keep yourself unmarried till age. This is the reason why Hindus have fewer children these days.
Ajmal had said that Hindus marry after the age of 40. How will they have children if they marry so late? When you sow only on fertile land, you can expect good results. He advised Hindus to follow the same formula for getting married as Muslims do. The AIUDF leader said that if Hindu girls marry men at the age of 18-20, they can produce a good number of children.
