Nagaur. Religion does not teach enmity with each other… Chhapri Khurd village of Didwana tehsil of the district is being discussed as an example of communal harmony in the entire district and the state. In this village, the treatment of a Hindu man and the way the Muslims took up the entire responsibility till the last rites after his death, from shouldering the bier to supporting the family, everything is a tribute to humanity and the Ganga in this era of communal hatred. Purple has become an example of culture. Let us tell you that this is a Muslim majority village, where most of the Kayamkhani Muslim people live and most of the people are associated with education and army.

Actually there was only one Hindu family living in this Muslim dominated village, that too on rent. Mukul Sarkar, a resident of Krishna Nagar, West Bengal, lived here with his wife and two innocent children for the last 20 years. Mukul was unwell for many days. On getting the information, Habib Khan and Aslam Khan Chain of the village took Mukul in their car to Jaipur for treatment, where they got Mukul admitted to the hospital, but unfortunately Mukul’s health did not improve and Mukul died.

When the villagers came to know that Mukul had died, they gathered information about Hindu rituals from around and prepared for the last rites together. When Mukul’s dead body reached the village, the people of the village lifted the bier and got Mukul’s 12-year-old son to perform the last rites. One and a half hundred Muslim people of the village including the sarpanch of Chhapri Khurd, Bhavru Khan participated in the funeral and gave the message of harmony, brotherhood and unity.
