Hindu Sikh Unity Protest Outside Delhi Canadian High Commission Barricades Toppled in Defiance Against Brampton Temple Desecration


Delhi Hindu Sikh Unity Protest: On Sunday (10 November 2024), workers of Hindu and Sikh organizations demonstrated strongly in front of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi. This protest was done after the attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada, in which a pro-Khalistan group vandalized and protested outside the temple. After this incident, security was increased in front of the Canadian Mission in Chanakyapuri, Delhi, in which Delhi Police deployed a large number of policemen and barricaded it at several levels.

The protesters of Hindu Sikh Global Forum were marching towards the Canadian High Commission and during this they tried to demolish the police barricades. The protesters raised slogans like “Hindus and Sikhs are one” and “India will not tolerate insult to its temples”.

Outrage arose after the incident outside Brampton temple

This demonstration was carried out in protest against the incidents that took place outside the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton. Khalistan supporters attacked devotees during a consular camp there on November 4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi The US strongly condemned the attack, calling it a “deliberate attack” and a “cowardly attempt to intimidate Indian diplomats”. Even after this incident in Brampton, there was a lot of anger among the Hindu-Sikh community there and massive demonstrations took place there. Apart from this, protests were also seen in Mississauga. A Canadian police officer, Harinder Sohi, has been suspended for participating in a pro-Khalistan rally and raising anti-India slogans.

Canadian police action, Khalistani supporter arrested

Canadian authorities have arrested four people related to this violent incident. One of these arrests includes the name of Inderjit Gosal, who is considered a key operative of ‘Sikhs for Justice’ (SFJ). The SFJ organization is banned in India, and Gosal has been charged with assault with a weapon.
