Retired IPS officer and Dalit activist SR Darapuri says that when Baba Saheb established the Scheduled Castes Federation of India Party in 1942, the color of the flag of that party was blue. Later in 1956, when the Republican Party was formed by abolishing the old party, the blue flag was also used in it. Later Mayawati’s BSP party also adopted the same colour.
