Indian Navy invites applications every year for the recruitment of sailors and under this recruitment, selection is done on different posts. Artificer Apprentice (AA)
This post is for candidates who have passed class 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Maths. The age of the candidate for this post should be between 17 to 20 years. Only male candidates can apply for this post. Candidates selected on this post are given the responsibility of operating and maintaining the ship’s propulsion machinery, weapons and sensors etc.
Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR)
For this post also, the candidate should have passed 12th class with Physics, Chemistry and Maths. For this, the age of the candidate should be between 17 to 21 years. Selected candidates of Senior Secondary Recruit are given the responsibility to operate ships, submarines, missile destroyers, sonar and radar etc.
Job responsibilities and salary
Artificer Apprentice (AA)
Artificer Apprentice gets a salary of Rs 14,600 per month during training. After training, they get a salary of Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100 under Level-3 pay scale.
Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR)
Senior Secondary recruits also get a salary of Rs 14,600 per month during training. In their pay scale, similar to Artificer Apprentice, the salary ranges from Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100.
