An oxygen cylinder exploded in a house in Bulandshahr at 8 pm on Monday night. Due to this blast, 7 people of the same family died. Actually, in the house where the oxygen cylinder exploded, a woman was unwell and an oxygen cylinder was arranged for her. Let us tell you in this article whether LPG cylinder or oxygen cylinder is more dangerous.
How dangerous is LPG cylinder
Both LPG and oxygen. These are the same gases, but there is a lot of difference in their use and storage. Both LPG and oxygen can be dangerous in case of cylinder explosion. Talking about LPG cylinder, it mainly contains a mixture of propane and butane.
Due to which it becomes a combustible gas. That is, if it is in the air, it can explode as soon as it comes in contact with a spark or flame. When LPG explodes, it produces massive fire and intense heat. People can get seriously injured or die if they come in contact with it.
How dangerous is an oxygen cylinder
LPG where spark Catches fire when it comes in contact with oxygen, whereas oxygen is a gas which helps in increasing the burning sensation. That is, if there is a fire and oxygen gets mixed in it, then it can be terrible. Oxygen can increase the temperature of fire so much that even stone can melt. This is the reason why the explosion of oxygen is more dangerous than that of LPG.
However, the thing to be noted here is that LPG can explode through a spark. Whereas this does not happen with oxygen cylinder. Oxygen cylinder is dangerous when it comes in contact with fire or flammable materials. As soon as this happens, the oxygen cylinder becomes dangerous. This is why whenever an oxygen cylinder is kept somewhere, many things are kept in mind. Apart from this, more caution is taken while transporting it as compared to LPG.
