How does the airbag inflate?

When it is heated rapidly, it turns into gas. At the same time, a little sodium azide is filled in the bag and produces nitrogen gas. When a car meets with an accident, they send electric current to the cylinder, due to which the solid chemical turns into gas. During this time the airbags get inflated.
