How does the Railways decide which compartment will be placed where in the train?

Whenever we talk about long, cheap and comfortable travel, Indian Railways is the first option. Railways not only lets us travel across India, but the thrill of train travel is also different. However, many times, after reaching the platform, we get into a dilemma as to where our coach is. Many times even the train is missed in this rush. But do you know the rules for arranging coaches in trains? If not then we tell…

Railways has set criteria for which coach will be placed where in the train. In this, the most important thing is taken care of and that is the convenience of the passengers. Accordingly, coaches are arranged in the train and the coaching plan is prepared. While planning the coaching plan of the train, it is also kept in mind that in case of an emergency, the passengers can easily get out.

While assigning coaches to the Railways, a fixed coaching plan is prepared. The engine of the train is at the forefront. After this other boxes are placed. Railways takes full care that the safety of passengers is paramount. If you look at any train, its structure is the same. There are general compartments at the front or rear. After this there are sleeper class coaches and in the middle there are AC class coaches.

Why are general compartments only at the front or the back?

According to Railways, the most crowded place in any train is in the general compartment. These coaches are placed at both ends of the train so that the crowd is distributed evenly. If this is not done, a huge crowd will gather in the middle of the station. This coaching plan is also useful in emergency situations. In case of any untoward incident, there is no crowd of people during the relief card, due to which the rescue operation can be conducted properly.

This is the position of the entire train

There is a general compartment behind the engine of any train. After this there is luggage compartment and then AC coach. There are first AC, second AC and third AC. After this there are sleeper and then some general compartments. The guard cabin is at the end of the train.
