How Pakistan Became Islamic Republic: British rule ended in India in the year 1947. But when the British left India, India was divided into two pieces. India and Pakistan had become two separate new countries. Pakistan got IDF a day before India on 14 August 1947. So India was declared independent on 15 August 1947. The demand for Pakistan started with the creation of a separate country for Muslims. But after independence, it took 9 years to become the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Got Dominion status after independence

When the freedom struggle was going on in India against the British. So in the meantime the demand for creating a separate country arose in the country. Famous poet Allama Iqbal, in the year 1930, demanded creation of a separate country for Muslims by combining Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab and Afghan provinces. So in the year 1933, Chaudhary Rahmat Ali, who was studying at Cambridge University, suggested naming this country Pakistan. And later this demand for a Muslim country became stronger. Then Mohammad Ali Jinnah entered it and he became the leader of this demand. After independence from the British, Pakistan got the name Dominion of Pakistan.

Islamic Republic of Pakistan formed after 9 years

When Pakistan became independent, Mohammad Ali Jinnah could not clear his confusion whether he wanted to make Pakistan a Muslim nation or a democratic one. Initially, when Pakistan became independent, it became a part of the British Commonwealth group of countries and remained a Dominion. But in the year 1956, the Constitution of Pakistan was prepared and on March 23 of the same year, the name of Pakistan was changed to Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Was declared the official religion of Pakistan.

The name is Islamic and the work is done by the Constitution

Even though Pakistan was declared an Islamic Republic. But in Pakistan the law operates only according to the Constitution. Not according to Shariat, the government in Pakistan is also elected according to the Constitution. The demand for becoming a country may have started as a country for Muslims. But even today Pakistan has not become a completely Muslim country.
