This decision has been taken in the meeting of the Aam Aadmi Party Legislature Party at the house of CM Arvind Kejriwal. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will resign from his post today i.e. on the evening of 17 September. The Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi has approved the name of Atishi, the new Chief Minister of Delhi, in the meeting of the Legislative Party. All AAP MLAs and ministers including Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bhardwaj and Atishi are present at Arvind Kejriwal’s residence in the meeting. LG VK Saxena has given Arvind Kejriwal an appointment. Arvind Kejriwal will meet the LG at 4.30 pm on Tuesday and submit his resignation.

Announcement of the name of the new Chief Minister

Now the question is how the name of the new Chief Minister is announced and power is transferred during the tenure of the government. According to the information, during the tenure of any government, the Chief Minister can resign at any time and leave his post. After the Chief Minister leaves the post, the leader of the Legislative Party of the state selects its new Chief Minister. For this, one or two names are proposed by the party top. After which the Legislative Party approves that name, the person whom the MLAs choose unanimously and with majority, that person becomes the new CM.

Resignation of Chief Minister

If a Chief Minister dies in the state, in that case the entire responsibility of the state is in the hands of the Governor/Lieutenant Governor until a new Chief Minister is appointed. On the other hand, if a Chief Minister resigns, in that case the Governor/Lieutenant Governor instructs the old CM to look after all emergencies and the administrative situation and law and order of the state until the new CM is sworn in. However, during this time the CM cannot take any major decisions.

After Atishi becomes the new CM of the capital Delhi, now Arvind Kejriwal will transfer all the power to her. Not only this pyrotechnic will get all the facilities available to the Chief Minister and those facilities will be taken away from Arvind Kejriwal.
