Huawei offering huge discount on its smartphones to compete with apple in premium segment

Chinese company Huawei, which has defeated Apple in the smartwatch market, has made another master plan. Now it is gearing up to leave Apple behind in the premium segment. Actually, China is the world’s largest smartphone market. Here Apple has captured the market of phones priced above Rs 50,000. To challenge this, Huawei has started giving huge discounts on many of its smartphones. Now Huawei smartphones are available with a discount of up to Rs 23,000.

Apple leads in premium segment with 52 percent market share

Apple has 52 percent market share of premium segment smartphones in China. Huawei is in second place with 33 percent market share. The sales of the Chinese company had increased by about 34 percent in the third quarter of the financial year. Making the competition tougher for Apple, Huawei has started reducing the price of phones. For example, Pura 70 Ultra (1TB) is now available for around Rs 1.06 lakh, whereas at the time of launching its price was Rs 1.28.

Company is also reducing the price of foldable phone

Huawei has no competition with Apple in the foldable phone market, but still the company is also reducing the prices of foldable phones. Apple has not yet launched a foldable phone. In such a situation, Huawei’s competition is only with domestic companies. Now the company has reduced the price of foldable Huawei Mate X5, launched in 2023, to Rs 1.23 lakh. 19 percent discount is available on this. Similarly, other phones are also getting huge discounts.
