Injured woman admitted to hospital

A man attacked his own wife with an axe near Keshopur under Sadar Kotwali area of Chandauli district. The wife suffered serious injuries due to the attack. The woman was immediately admitted to the hospital, where her condition remains critical. The Sadar police has been informed about the incident.

Chandratara, daughter of Shivnarayan, resident of Shastri Nagar, Ward No. 2 of Chandauli Nagar Panchayat, was married to Pradeep Ram, resident of Mathela village of Balua police station, about 12 years ago. For the last three years, the husband and wife have been living separately. Chandratara currently works in a private hospital and lives in her maternal home and supports her 6-year-old son Ansh and 4-year-old daughter Sheetal.
Injured Chandratara said that her husband is a drug addict and always asks for money from her. She alleged that when she refused to give him money this time, her husband attacked her with an axe. Chandratara said that she has suffered serious injuries on her legs and many other places due to the axe attack. She said that she has given a written report of the incident to Sadar police station. She has also appealed to the police administration for justice.
