ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Pakistan is going to host the Champions Trophy next year. This will be the first ICC tournament after the 1996 World Cup, which will be played in Pakistan. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been criticized from time to time regarding security arrangements, but finally now the International Cricket Association has approved the schedule of Champions Trophy 2025. Let us tell you that PCB had sent the proposed schedule to ICC about 2 weeks ago, under which matches will be held from 19 February to 9 March.
ICC put its seal
According to Pakistani media channel Geo TV, it has been revealed that ICC has not made any changes in the proposed schedule and the schedule will be shared with the boards of 7 other countries by the end of this month. Apart from host Pakistan, India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are going to be a part of the Champions Trophy. According to the proposed schedule, all the matches of India will be played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. According to this, the India-Pakistan mega match is to be played on March 9. Apart from Gaddafi Stadium, National Stadium (Karachi) and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium (Rawalpindi) have been selected to organize the matches.
BCCI’s response is awaited
Although the ICC has given the green signal to PCB’s proposed schedule, there are high chances that BCCI will reject the proposal. Last year, the Asia Cup was played in 50-over format, which was hosted by Pakistan, but India refused to play there. Due to this, all the matches of the Indian team were held in Sri Lanka. Something similar is expected to happen this time as well. There are speculations that India’s matches can be held in UAE, while the matches of other teams will be held in Pakistan.
