ICC World Cup 2023: The dispute between the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Pakistan Cricket Board is not taking the name of stopping. Now it has reached a new level. Former PCB CEO and currently ICC General Manager Wasim Khan has claimed that Pakistan will probably choose Bangladesh as a neutral ground to play their matches in the ICC World Cup 2023. Pakistan will not play its matches in the World Cup in India.

This statement came after India agreed to play on neutral ground in the Asia Cup. Earlier, India had refused to play in Pakistan in the Asia Cup. Pakistan will host the Asia Cup to be played in the year 2023.

Wasim Khan’s claim

Speaking on the local Pakistan TV channel, ICC Cricket General Manager Wasim Khan said, ‘I don’t think it will happen in any other country or not. But there is a high possibility of being played on a neutral ground. I don’t think that Pakistan will play its matches in India in the World Cup. I think Pakistan’s matches will also be on neutral ground like India’s matches in Asia Cup. Meanwhile, an ICC official while talking to Cricbuzz said, “Bangladesh was not discussed at all in the board meeting and the emphasis was on holding all the World Cup matches in India”.

Where did the controversy start

In fact year 2023 Pakistan will host the Asia Cup. India has already made it clear that it will not send its team to Pakistan keeping in mind the safety of the players. At the same time, the PCB retaliated by claiming that Pakistan would boycott the World Cup to be held in India in October-November. He will also not play his matches in India. Recently in the ICC meeting it was decided that India will play in the Asia Cup but Pakistan will not go. India will play all its matches on neutral ground.
