Ideas of India 2023: Indian Railways is rapidly modernizing itself. In which semi high speed trains are being run by the Railways. Vande Bharat Express train is also a proof of this modernization. Railways is also adopting new technology to make the journey comfortable. A similar technique has been used in Vande Bharat Express. Which gives a great experience to the passengers.
Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav, who reached the Ideas Of India 2023 program organized by ABP News, told about this. He told that air spring technology has been used in Vande Bharat. Which makes its journey better than other trains. In such a situation, let us know what is this technology and after its introduction, how the journey of Vande Bharat Express is better than other trains.
The sound comes when the train is running
There are 2 bogies in a coach of a train. The entire coach rests on these bogies with the help of springs. When the train moves on the track, there are mild jerks, which are reduced to a great extent by these springs. But, even then the shaking is felt in the train. Apart from this, you must have noticed that whenever the train starts moving, there is a screeching sound. That too happens because of these springs.
What actually happens is that the weight of the entire coach is on these springs and these springs are attached to the bogie. Since the tracks are not completely stable, they keep on moving up and down slightly when the train passes over them. In such a situation, the sound coming from this continues to reach even the passengers sitting in the train. But, this is not the case in Vande Bharat.
That’s why this voice does not come in Vande Bharat?
Passengers sitting in Vande Bharat do not hear this kind of sound and the reason for this is the ‘air springs’ used in this train. In Vande Bharat, air springs have been used in place of old conventional springs. Air springs are filled with air which acts as a spring. This air spring is connected to a chamber, which balances the air pressure in it. This air spring completely negates the shocks caused by the running of the train and the passengers sitting inside do not hear any sound from outside.
Adjusts the brake system
Apart from this, the air spring also automatically adjusts the brake system of the train. What actually happens is that a certain space is left between the wheels and the brakes of the train, but when there are more people in the train, the brakes come down slightly due to the increased weight. In such a situation, the gap between the wheel and the brake increases more. But, as soon as the train compartment is empty from the back, they reach up again and the gap reduces. Sometimes this gap becomes so less that there is a smell of burning when the train is running. The same problem used to exist with conventional springs, which does not exist after the advent of air springs. The air spring automatically adjusts the gap between the wheel and the brake.
