Allahabad High Court, on the demand of security by a couple after marriage, has said that if the marriage is not registered within two months, the security order will automatically be cancelled. Justice Renu Aggarwal’s court has given this decision. In the case, the couple got married as per Hindu rituals on 22 December 23 at Arya Samaj, George Town, Prayagraj.
The petitioner’s advocate said, as per the certificates, both are adults, but the petitioner’s father is creating disturbance in their married life. The petitioner had applied to the Senior Superintendent of Police of Firozabad for security on 22 January 24, but he was not given any security. On this, a petition was filed in the High Court requesting protection, while the permanent advocate also presented his side.
After hearing the arguments, the court said, as per the high school marksheet, both are adults. In such a situation, the petitioner is free to choose the partner of his choice, even parents cannot interfere in this. The petitioner will meet SP Firozabad with the copy of the order, who will provide immediate security.
Also, the petitioner will have to register his marriage under UP Marriage Registration Rules 2017 within two months. If this does not happen, this order will be automatically cancelled. The court also said that this order is not about the validity of the marriage of the petitioners.
