ICC ODI World Cup 2023: ICC has announced the schedule of 2023 ODI World Cup. The first match of this Mahakumbh of cricket will be played between the defending champions England and New Zealand on October 5. And the final match will be held on 19 November. The schedule of the entire tournament has come to the fore. Although, according to the schedule so far, the semi-final match will be held in Mumbai, but if India faces Pakistan in the semi-final, then the schedule will be changed.
However, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) 2023 ODI World Cup India is still apprehensive about sending its team to India, but the International Cricket Council (ICC) is sure that the team captained by Babar Azam will play the 50-over World Cup in India.
Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens will host one semi-final while Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium will host the other semi-final. However, if India faces Pakistan in the semi-finals, the match will be held in Kolkata. Whereas in case of other opponent, the match will be held in Mumbai. As far as Pakistan is concerned, they will play semi-finals in Kolkata.
Please tell that ICC and BCCI have made preparations. If India faces Pakistan in the semi-finals, then the venue will be changed. The teams of India and Pakistan will play in Kolkata instead of Mumbai in the semi-finals.
After the announcement of the World Cup schedule, the PCB clearly said that its playing depends on getting approval from the government. A PCB official said that our playing in the World Cup and playing in Ahmedabad on October 15 or in Mumbai after reaching the semi-finals depends on getting approval from the government.
Pakistan last played in India in the 2016 T20 World Cup. Due to the tension in the mutual relations between the two countries, both the teams play each other only in ICC tournaments or Asia Cup. It was almost certain that Pakistan’s request to move the two matches would be turned down by the BCCI, as it normally accepts such requests only in the event of a security threat.
