A similar sweet is also made in Jamshedpur, but people can taste it only during two months of the year. Its name is Ras Madhuri.
Ras Madhuri sweet is like malai chaap. The special thing is that this sweet is made from jaggery, which is available only during cold days. Especially it is available only during the two months of severe cold. Its specialty is that even diabetes patients can eat it easily. Because there is no sugar in it, only jaggery is used.
The making process is different
Sukumar Sen, director of Pooja Sweets, said that this shop is located near Sakchi Sanjay Market in Jamshedpur. A variety of sweets are available here. But, people have special demand for Ras Madhuri. It is made only for two months during winter and the process of making it is quite different from other sweets.
Daily consumption of 500 pieces
It was further told that in Ras Madhuri you will get a mixture of jaggery along with dry fruits like cashews, almonds, pistachios, raisins and wonderful cream. People wait the whole year to eat it. As soon as it starts being made, many pieces of it get eaten within an hour. Talking about the price, the price of one piece Ras Madhuri is Rs 45. To make this sweet, 250 liters of milk is consumed daily, from which 500 pieces of sweets are prepared. All these pieces are sold within a few hours.
