It is made from curd and does not even need to be cooked. Nor is oil or ghee used in it. It is very easy to make and it takes only 25 to 30 minutes to make it. Ingredients to make Shrikhand
- Curd 1kg
- Cardamom powder 1 tsp
- cashew nuts 20
- Almonds 10 to 15
- Pistachios 5 to 10
- saffron half tsp
- sugar to taste
- Saffron color – a pinch
How to make Shrikhand
- To make Shrikhand, first take curd
- Now take out the extra water present in it
- To drain the water, place a strainer on a utensil and spread a muslin cloth over it and pour curd on the cloth.
- After some time, wrap the cloth from all sides and tie a knot tightly so that the curd water comes out.
- Now tie the bundle of curd on a high place and keep it for 7 to 8 hours, in this time all the water will be removed from the curd.
- Now put the drained curd in a vessel and beat it well for 5 to 10 minutes.
- After this add sugar, cardamom powder and saffron threads to the curd as per taste.
- Mix all the ingredients well, after that whisk the Shrikhand until the curd lumps are gone.
- Give it half an hour to beat it well.
- If you want to give color to Shrikhand, then add saffron colored food color and beat it well.
- After this your Shrikhand is ready, garnish it with cashews, almonds and pistachios.
- Your Shrikhand is ready. Keep it in the fridge, eat it when it cools down.
