Ingredients for Barley Soup
Barley – 2-3 tbsp
Garlic chopped – 1 tsp
Chopped white part of onion – 1/4 cup
Carrot chopped – 1/4 cup
Tomatoes finely chopped – 1/4 cup
Masoor – 2 tbsp
Chopped green part of onion – 1/4 cup
Black pepper powder – 1-2 pinch
Green coriander – 2-3 tbsp
Oil – 1 tsp
salt – as per taste

Barley Soup Recipe
To make barley soup, first clean the barley and then soak it in water for 2 hours. Sieve the barley after the fixed time. After this, wash the lentils and filter them. Now put 1 tsp oil in a pressure cooker and heat it. Add white part of green onion and garlic to it and fry on medium flame. After frying for a few seconds, add finely chopped carrots, barley, lentils, salt as per taste and 4-5 cups of water and mix. Now close the cooker and give 4-5 whistles.

After the whistles, turn off the gas and let the pressure of the cooker release on its own. After this, open the lid of the cooker and take out the mixture in a vessel. Now heat a pan and add barley-lentil mixture, green part of green onion, tomato, green coriander, black pepper powder and salt as per taste and mix well and cook.

Now increase the flame of the gas and let the soup boil well. After boiling the soup once, take the flame on medium and let the soup cook for 1 to 2 more minutes. During this, keep stirring the soup in between. Then turn off the gas. Barley soup rich in taste and nutrition is ready. You can drink it in breakfast or before lunch or dinner.
