Ingredients for making onion cream
Cream fresh – 1 bowl
Onion – 250 grams
Tomato – 2
Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Cumin – 1 tsp
Rai – 1/4 tsp
Dry red chili – 2
Green coriander leaves chopped – 1 tbsp
Lemon juice – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 8-10
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Oil – 2 tbsp
salt – as per taste

Creamy Onion Recipe
To make Malai Onion sabzi, first remove the upper peel of onions and then wash them and cut them into medium sized long pieces. Some people also use whole onions for this curry. Now put oil in a pan and heat it on medium flame. After the oil is hot, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves and fry them. After a few seconds, add whole red chillies to it and then add chopped onion pieces and fry while stirring.

When the onions become soft, add red chili powder, coriander powder, asafoetida and other spices and salt as per taste, mix well with a ladle and let it cook. Let the onions cook till the oil starts coming up. After this add finely chopped tomatoes and let the vegetable cook for 5 minutes. When the tomatoes become very soft, add fresh cream to the pan and mix well with the help of a spoon.

Now cover the pan and let the vegetable cook for 2-3 minutes. During this, stir the vegetable once or twice in between. At the end, put one spoon of lemon juice in the vegetable and turn off the gas. Take out the vegetable in a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with roti, naan or rice.
